Do you Qualify to play for Wales

In order to play for Wales at International level you must have either -

Been born in Wales.
Have a Parent who was born in Wales.
Have a Grandparent who was born in Wales (Masters Only)
You can prove you were resident in Wales for 3 continuous years.

Differing criteria applies for those players holding dual nationality or for those that have represented another country at U-21 or Senior level and any such person wishing to make themselves available for selection must first contact Hockey Wales for clarification.

Membership.

Annual subscriptions:

Players affiliated to Hockey Wales from within their clubs - Free
Players affiliated to Hockey Wales on a personal basis - Free
Players from outside Wales not affiliated to Hockey Wales - £28 which includes Hockey Wales affiliation cost.

Dual Nationality Transfer from Country to Country.

Players with Dual Nationality who have played for one of the countries they qualify to pay for and wish to transfer to the other country that they qualify to play for must:

1. Obtain permission from both the National Governing bodies to which they have and wish to play under.

2. Having obtained Permission to transfer from the two National Governing Bodies they must Obtain permission from their International Governing Body ie: the WGMA or the IMHA before they can complete the transfer.

3. There must be a "cooling off" period of 12 continuous months between a player playing in their last International match for their First choice country and their Second choice country. Players wishing to transfer within this period must obtain permission from the two National Governing bodies and their International Governing Body.

4. Once a transfer has been made from one country to the other the player cannot transfer back.
